a visionary and strategic leader to join our team as

Head of Communication & Public Affairs Officer.

 

 

Role overview:

The role focuses on overseeing and directing Generali Hungary communication and public affairs activities. The chief communication officer serves as the primary voice and ambassador for the company, shaping its public image, reputation, and brand messaging.

 

General responsibilities: 

  • Implementation of Generali Hungary communication strategy,
  • CORPORATE COMMUNICATION – regular point of contact for the CEO and the Board of Directors positioning the management both externally and internally as thought leaders within the industry, engaging employees with innovative platforms, driving DEI & sustainability topics, managing, programs and activities of the Human Safety Net Foundation,
  • SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS – managing editorial calendar and regular posting on the major social media platforms,
  • EVENT MANAGEMENT – full management of corporate events such as regular town hall for employees, multiple activities coordinated with other departments such as sponsorship, sales events, DEI,
  • CASCADING GROUP & REGIONAL COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES – implement Generali Group communication campaign internally and externally, steering of CEE regional projects, reporting activities coordinated with CEE regional office,
  • PUBLIC AFFAIRS - developing and advocating industry positions before the entities regulating them, and with local and international institutions.

 

Responsibilities in detail:

  • Develop and implement integrated communication and public relations strategies that reinforce Generali’s brand, reputation, and business goals,
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent communication across all channels,
  • Ensure that all communications comply with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines,
  • Manage Generali Hungary ’s external communications, including media relations, public relations, and social media,
  • Maintain a balanced budget of Generali Hungary’s communication & PR,
  • Develop and manage a high-performing communications team,
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders on communications matters and proactively identify potential issues that may impact the organization,
  • Oversee the creation of communication plan, materials, including press releases, speeches, talking points, and other written and visual content,
  • Build relationships with key influencers and media outlets to ensure favorable coverage and increased visibility,
  • Lead crisis communication efforts and provide guidance to senior leaders and teams during a crisis.

 

The ideal candidate brings the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations,
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the communication field, with at least five years managing communication teams preferably in international organizations,
  • Experience in managing a crisis is essential,
  • Candidates must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure,
  • Strong English skills in presentations, external communication and negotiating is a must have.
